Hi everyone,
It was really great getting together last weekend. I put the event wrapup on my CNET Asia blog if you want to take a look.
I'd love to have more time to write about Drupal because it's such a great system and the more I learn the more it helps me at work as well.
This is the site I built for our Tech Club: http://taipeitechclub.com. I also blog on there about Drupal. It's still a work in progress and I use it as a live sandbox to test out new modules and whatnot. Thanks to the meetup I feel a little more motivated to put the final touches on it soon. :)
After talking to Charles and the gang about possible topics for the next meetup, these are just some rough ideas:
- i18n internationalization (i'm working a little bit with this at work now but don't know enough about it to give a presentation)
- Feeds and Embedded Media (I could present this, I've got Flickr images pulled into our Tech Club website and displayed as a Slideshow)
- Subversion and/or Drush (I don't know Subversion yet but use Drush and it's such a useful tool. Maybe this is a bit advanced for some users? I don't really know.)
Charles also mentioned Jenny and he discussed the idea of a Drupal 7 launch party and I'm in for that as well. Whenever and wherever you guys decide is fine, and I'll show up and will try to bring some other friends as well.
- Spencer
Re: December Event Writeup and ideas for next time
Thanks for the writeup on CNet. The big boss Dries already twitted about it. In the next few weeks, we should know better as far as when Drupal 7 will be released. Then we can better plan what we want to do about the launch party.
